I need to overhaul my scooter. It's time.

Can you guys pitch in to help me create a knockout list?

Heres what i have so far:
Piston rings&seals
Calibrate the cams
Compression test, &/or leakdown
Tighten chain sitting betwixt the 2&3 cams (whatsitcalled)
Front-fork seals
Clutch plates
Shift fork
Brake pads
Jets
Flapper valve
Cosmetics

I need to crack the motor open, thats what i really need help with. Blind in that department.
I know a guy who can help but he runs his own shop and his time is expensive.
I also need a garage.

If anyone wants to volunteer for this I'd limp it to yiur house once i get the parts squared. Knocking bad. Is my first rebuild :embarrassed:

Ok i took my scooter to the doctor today and received a clean bill of health.
Engine runs "smooth as silk".
Chain is loose, so he showed me how to tighten the chain.
Already set for another oil change and basic maintenance.

So mebe you guys chip in some 30k tuneup ideas?
:music: it aint what it was anymore, george. Hopefully  :morning1:

Change your fuel filter, it is under the fuel tank. use the real Yamaha filter.
then ride it and see if you can go 100mph now.

Its still there but he said the chain might be slapping on the guard.
2inches of play. He rode it around abit, we revved it up inthe parking lot, some sustained 4&6k revs and a push to 8.

Is why i was shocked when tokd it was kaput, i rode 200 miles a couple weeks ago to LA.

Needs a tuneup badly though, thats why Im making this list.
I'll put fuel & oil filter on the list, Mark.
Might be a good time to replace my brake lines, Pat. I'll add that too.
