The Sierra West Coast Rally is fast approaching. The rally is always held on the weekend following Memorial Day. This year it's Friday May 28th and Saturday May 29th. Most folks arrive on Thursday. Our first rides start on Friday morning.

I checked this morning April 3rd with Mary (530)495-2255 as to the room count.

http://www.meadowcliff.com/

Out of the 20 rooms available we have 6 rooms left and they are as follows:

1 Room single queen
3 Rooms single Cal King
2 Rooms double queen

The final date to make room reservations will be May 15th After that, they will open any remaining rooms up to the general public.

I have 1/2 cord of firewood ordered with the option for another 1/2 cord on standby. We have the option of a catered BBQ dinner for us on Friday or Saturday night if the group wishes. Many of these rooms have kitchens.

Paul and Jason Lawson and I will be arriving on Tuesday evening May 26 so we can pre run the routes on Wednesday.....

We are going to have some fun!

Yah, some how they sent me an email yesterday confirming Randy's reservation. Gotta call Monday and make sure both are correct.

Hey Pat thanks for the effort you put in and yeah especially the sacrifice of pre-running the roads. So the wood cost you something, we should donate to your tip jar. Don't recall how this was handled before. Did you reserve the fit pit, I thought there was one central for the whole camp? Do you need head count for the  catered BBQ (if we do that) prior to the Rally? Sounds good to me, Friday or Saturday.
Mike
BTW I swung by Paul's this morning and got the stuff.

Hey Mike, thanks again for your help on getting the Givi luggage to Randy.

Yes, we have the central fire pit reserved....in fact we have the entire hotel reserved for our group. Any unreserved rooms will be released on May 15 to the general public. I'll front the money for the firewood and pass the hat at the rally, no worries.

Re: Pre-running, I have not been on Sonora Pass (108) for over 20 years so I don't know the condition of that road, something I want to find out.
I'm not worried about the other mountain passes; Monitor Pass 89/88 down to Jackson or Hwy 4 down to Angles Camp, or Tuolumne Pass 120 thru Yosemite

It's gonna be a spectacular set of rides up and over the Sierras.

Thanks Mark, I didn't think we would have any when Garth posted that he was not going to make the WCR.

Very cool.

Sorry I'm not able to make it to the WCR, but I have given Mark plenty of instructions on the proper care and handling of thermite.  I'm sure he will do fine.  :good2:

Will see everyone at the S. Dakota rally!

I here by claim no responsibility if something goes wrong and burns the lodge down.  I don't know any of you, nor do I know anything about thermite.   :wacko3:

I seem to recall seeing you here in Australia at the time!

I'm sure a few others will claim having seen me there as well Harvy.

You'll need one flower pot per night.. takes about 1lb of thermite per fire.  But what do I know?
