Susan (not a lib either) has been suffering with a recurrent case of bronchitis since the cold and wet end to our Wednesday ECSR ride last week (shoulda heeded my warnings about Boone WX in May, and the need for rain gear), and so, will miss the WCR.  She may be well enough to meet up with me in Ouray...

At least it will be in the low 90's in Willits.

The coast looks like foggy mornings, topping out in the high 70's.
The Stewart's Point General Store has reopened, but the fuel pump hasn't.
So no gas between Jenner and Gualala.

Indeed, I arrived last night.

Could use a rear caliper cover, as mine is now MIA...    :scratch_one-s_head:

So, since I am bring up three bikes and I can only ride one at a time, I am towing. I has been a few years since we have looked at the wheel bearings on the trailer. So, in true day before we leave fashion, the wheel bearings come off.

While those are being serviced I look at the undercarriage of the trailer/axle at say WTF... :shok:

The axle, which is a Dexter "Torflex", has broken away from the rear mounting brackets on both sides. The axle is being held loosely in by the single front bolt which now has worn holes and cracks as well.

So, that axle comes out, the brackets are repaired and gussets are made. Now all we have to do is install it in the morning and put the wheels on, load up & head out.

Am I breaking the rally rules...?

Steve and I made our first leg of the trip up. Steve over packed so we had to take the trailer. Others are telling us to upgrade but Steve says no, it has been good to us for a 100 years.
