Pat's chair.... There was also a set of FJScott provided yamaha saddle bags that rktmanfj carried to Ouray 2016's central rally that no one accepted as gifts. Randy then toted them to the 2016 EC Fall rally where Bill Rockoff, now what is his forum name... gained custody of these original Yamaha option soft bags.

Quote from: yamaha fj rider on November 01, 2016, 02:51:55 AM..I think that Pat's chair is going to take on a life of it's own. Attending future rallies, maybe moving to another state after some time in Utah. Anyone that has some more details about Pat's chair please add them. I hope you enjoyed this. Thanks again Randy.

Kurt

Well better Pat's camping chair that a friggin timpani drum.  Randy would agree.

Pat Conlon

Thank's Kurt....yea, that chair.....at least is isn't a big ass kettle drum... :good:

But you have to admit the the Drum has a kind of pointless StoopidCool-ness that a camp chair just can't provide.

"That Damned Drum".  That drum fit through the cabin door by 1/4"  It then fit into the bathroom , not a mm more finished it off in Deans shower, 1/8" clearance, maybe a mm less.

to the best of my knowledge will learn how this happened when they read this or one of us calls them to spill the beans. Yet another way, Randy is not done yet.

haha! thats great! ...and accurate  :good2:  man that damned drum has been thru some shit.. imagine the stories it could tell ! oh wow..  i cant remember if i first got it from Dean or Randy, but i do remember making trips to cincinnati and indianapolis ..'drum logistics' . my daughter Kate made the trip to Randys with me back in 2009 or so, we had a good time hangin out.. playin with the pups.. i had no idea how that trip would change my life. Had a helluva good ride with Randy down 28 to franklin at the rally... givin' it hell as usual.. 'cause thats what Randy did.. in all aspects of life. He gave it hell.

R.I.P. Randy.

Randy graciously hosted a band of FJ hooligans at his semi-vacated house in Indy so we had a place to call base-camp while we went to the inaugural Indy MotoGP race.  I think there must have been at least ten of us crammed into that little house, some sleeping in the basement.  Back yard full of bikes.  Hurricane rolling in and cutting short the race by a few laps.

Great trip, great memories.

Nancy and I just got back from Oregon to find this out.  Terrible news, RIP Randy.  Of course we knew things were not great from our meeting with Randy at the ECFR last September.  Randy will always have a place set for him at all future rally gatherings.

Today would have been Randy's 59th Birthday.

DR.GTS.DUCATI.FAZER Dave

Today I finished a long overdue project. It is in time for the Fall Rally.

In honor of our friend Randy Thompson, a great man and friend. I made 2 of these plaques for him. Some of his ashes will be stored in the float bowl of the carburetor. One will go to this falls East Coast Rally in Tellico with a short ceremony to spread some ashes on Randy's favorite Route @* through Suches, and the other to FJMonkey in California. The photo is of Randy during a Rally, along with the message Randy wanted people to know about his cancer and getting the HPV Vaccine.

The Oak is from a tree I harvested, >200 years old, 48" in Diameter and dying from Wood Boring worms. Randy had character as we all know. In his last days at my home, we discussed these plaques/Urns and his message. The photo is a all weather decal and he would be honored if everyone could spread the vaccines word by displaying the decal on your trailer or tow rig.

For a decal, I am sending some to RPM Randy for each sale inclusion as he sees fit, and I can be messaged on the site here with your address and will send one out to you if requested.

Let all our fallen friends be remembered fondly for the good they brought us all.

That looks awesome. What a great way to remember someone. I never had the pleasure to meet Randy but enjoyed his posts. God speed and enjoy that endless twisty road in the sky. Big R
