I am so disappointed I can make this great event. Play nice fellas
Your stubby opening skills will be greatly missed Richard, as you will be, ya big bugger. You always contribute to the occasion in a memorable and fun way.

Pete, I had such a great time getting to, being at and going home from the your Manshed weekend last year I wouldn't miss it for anything.

So much so that I am reassembling this....
Looking forward to it, just try and keep the heat and humidity down.

See ya there

(Troy, don't forget the neddy)

Noel
Good on you Noel. It's always a pleasure to have you with us. Hope the re-assembly goes well.
See you in a couple of weeks.

My swing arm won't be as shiny as your though.

Cheers Alan

You don't need a shiny swingarm to attend Alan. Bring it as it is and polish it when you get here. I'm sure you can hold a beer in one hand and a polishing rag in the other. It's the only way to polish!   :good2:

I do like a clean bike but riding is better but since you mentioned it, a
Super Buffed Swing Arm would be nice,

Is that something we could do on a Manshed Weekend Pete?

Shiny Forks would compliment the Swing Arm also, maybe those too :scratch_one-s_head:

Or would that be a Manshed Long Weekend?

Cheers Alan

Alan, the polishing stops when the beer runs out. Mate, I'm not too proud to ride with somebody on a dirty bike.

Ray, it's paint with 3 coats of automotive clear over it. It's the clear that makes it look good. That stuff is so tough you can hit it with a hammer (not too hard) and it should last a lot longer. Swing arms cop a bit of beating for a number of reasons, paint alone doesn't seem up to it and powder coating a waste of money (IMO) for a part you see so little of.

The clear should make it easier to clean as well - time will tell.

Unless I'm buying specialised products like engine enamel etc, I prefer getting trade auto paint suppliers to make it up. The fillable rattle cans they use have high volume, broad pattern nozzles that allow for good wet coats and I know I'm not getting hobby paint. I have spaying equipment but with these cans/nozzles it's not worth getting the gear dirty for small jobs.

Looks like headphones to me.

You are correct Mark. I'm self employed ("living the dream" according to those who aren't) and I'm in the workshop until at least midnight 6 nights a week. They are cordless headphones, I can either "watch" a movie or listen to music while I'm working.

G'Day Pete

Unfortunately, being new to the FJOwners Forum and thus receiving such short notice of the Manshed, I will not be able to attend.
This looks like a fantastic weekend with a group of like minded riders.
Is this an annual event and if so, is it generally advertise around July as it was this year?
Looking forward to meeting some fellow FJ owners in the not too distant future.

Mens shed weekends can be held at anytime by anyone. Pete has sort of made his an annual pilgrimage, but anyone with a bit of space and a few tools (not talking about FJ riders here) can throw open their door for a shed day.

G'day Gavin, this is the second Manshed weekend that Alf and I have put on. Although some work does get done on the bikes, it's more about the social element of meeting up with fellow FJ owners and generally having a great time. We all have different backgrounds and walks of life but we all seem to get on famously. Just a great bunch of blokes and gals. I'm sure there will be another gathering soon (no pressure Troy), it's a shame you can't get to the Mudgee Rally so you can  meet many other FJer's. I don't think there's been a Rally yet that has not had everybody talking about it for ages. I'm sure the Mudgee event will also be a memorable event for all the right reasons.
We'll have to get a Sydney and NSW south coast FJ ride organised, maybe after the Rally.
   Regards, Pete.
