A little over 30 hours from now, I will be boarding a flight to pick up my 1995 FJ1200. I will have almost a full day of down time to go over the bike and do some preventative maintenance. Kai has had a new chain and sprocket set waiting to be installed for some time. That will be job #1. Job #2 will be fork seals, job #3 will be install Buell foot pegs, job #4 will be remove the KPH speedo and replace with a MPH speedo and if there is still time left, job #5 is install a RPM LED tail light with a brake light modulator pre-wired.

I know I will get a hit for breaking the Rally Rule..... But, with the distance that will be covered and a new to me FJ, at minimum, the chain and sprockets are a must. The fork seals can be determined once I see if the are *Leaking* or *weeping* a bit.

I also have the added benefit of Kurt riding with me and he is very familiar with this bike. I will document our journey and try and get photos along the way. Here is the latest photo that Kai sent me. The FJ is ready and waiting for me.

:yahoo: :dance2: The time has arrived. I am at the airport and will be departing for Salt Lake City in about an hour. A few photos to kick off my journey. For those that are not familiar with Wichita Kansas. The city is commonly referred to as The Air Capital of the World. I currently work for an Aerospace manufacturer and the company produces 47 Boeing 737 fuselages a month. Along with large sections for every Boeing aircraft in production.

Yesterday was a full day working on the bike. New chain and sprockets, Speedometer changed from KPH to MPH, 4000 Lumen LED headlight bulb, fork seals changed, RPM LED tail light, Buell lowered foot pegs and an attempt to do some front fender tab repairs....

Just east of Cheyenne we stopped for gas and ran into 2 husband and wife pairs. Riding to Sturgis from California. They were speaking a strange language. I asked where they called home. The replied that they were from Switzerland. The women were riding the Sportys. My hats off to the four of them riding to Sturgis.

I know there are a few members that just love the Cobra F1 and F1r slip on mufflers. This bike came with a set. The sound is incredible.

There is one thing with this FJ that has taken a bit of time to get used too. I have owned at least one of every generation of FJ. This is the only one that has GREEN turn signal indicator lights. While riding, turning on the left signal gives me a moment of thought that the bike hits neutral.
