State Farm Insurance photo

I have seen this photo a few times on the internet that is included with an advertisement for State Farm insurance. The photo makes me cringe. IMHO, insurance companies should be advocates of motorcycle safety. This photo is everything that is not safe.

The helmet is too small for the guy's head
Ray ban sunglasses offer almost zero eye protection
No gloves
Leather jacket obviously, not meant for motorcycle riding.
Wearing a jacket, not zipped.

My guess is that wardrobe manager used an old photo of James Dean for the inspiration for this COOL motorcycle look.

Hipsters apparently don't do ATGATT :sorry: However, you certainly would think that insurance companies have a vested interest in encouraging gear usage. It seems that the advertising folks haven't talked to the actuarial department. Or maybe it has been calculated that the medical payouts cost them less than replacing shredded gear.  :unknown:
