Yea, at a quick glance, it looks like a 6mm fuel line would be over half (60%) the size of a 10mm line, but it's actually much less in regards to flow.
Funny thing about the area of circles, it goes up by the square root of the radius.
10mm ID = 78.5 sq/mm
 6mm ID = 28.2 sq/mm

The 6mm line is only 35% the area of a 10mm line.

Math check Pat...  Area of circle = (3.1416) x Radius2...

Oops, correctamundo....should read "the square of the radius.."  Not the square root.. My bad.

FJ1200W

I went and looked at the FJ1100 and it's been a long time since I've walked away from a complete bike.

It's not been ridden since 1997ish.

Parked outside for the last 5 years or so, mostly uncovered.

The shift linkage was rusted bad enough that it would not go into neutral, much less shift into anything.

It's a shame, a crying shame - on the bright side, it had a nice set of F1R canisters on it, it has that going for it, and the fairing is complete, and it has a clear title -

The front brakes were also rusted to the rotors - key's lost, tank half full and who knows how horrible it and the carbs are -

$500 was his price, I asked him how much he would take for it, he never gave me another price but wanted an offer -

Call me an odd duck, shoot me a price and I'll either buy it or walk.

Today, I walked......

I did say I would sleep on it.......

If the plastic wasn't all faded. I'd offer him $150. I paid $600 for mine. 10800 miles. Stored in heated garage for 12 plus years. And it came with a crashed 87 that only had 865 miles on it. Still had to replace anything that to do with brake fluid. Gas tank was full when he parked it was half full of a mess. when I got it.

Hey Noel do you have a link to buy these.

Unfortunately I don't, but if you enter "12v fuel solenoid" into eBay it will come up with quite a few choices.

I'm in the nope boat. Everything looks like it needs TLC. Parts only. 50 bucks for a clear title, minus any DMV back fees. He's going to owe you money.

I ran but it followed me.....
The salvage yard offered him $25.00 and I could not see that happening.
He brought it to where I work, I was able to unload it with a forklift.

It causes me heart ache to see a FJ in that condition of neglect.
I know it happens all the time but it still bugs me. I know it's silly and sentimental. It's just a machine.

Good for you Steve.  :good2:  May the FJ gods smile on your project. You saved her.

Let us know how we can help.

Sure it's rusty and whatnot but the plastic pieces look like they are undamaged.  That's impressive.

Pat, I feel the same way when I view some neglected vehicle.  It's a disease and I've had to stop myself recently.

Steve, I hope you post follow up info and pics.

I feel the same with all of the poor neglected beasts. I really hate seeing a perfectly good bike or car parted out just becase "I can get more for it in parts" mentality. We are a bit like vultures when this happens though.

Just my 2 cents

I used to think like that but I've come round to thinking this way - that one bike may get another half a dozen bikes back on the road.
