Thanks Millietant - that's what it is, Vance and Hines.

I'm getting a quote on repairs and ceramic coat. Not going to be cheap as they have to remove the chrome.

Heck, a little hydrochloric acid would take care of that.....

The collector is crude by modern standards, it may need some TLC as well.

$350ish for JetHot ceramic coating the full system, with shipping back. They don't do pipe repair. May have to try the old compressed air and a torch trick....

Met a friend for a ride, he has a new Africa Twin he's modified like mad and he is heading for the TAT, sounds like a good time.

When we were leaving for todays ride, my bike failed to start. Turn key off - clock came on.

Turn key on, nothing - but once and a while, everything came on - but when I hit the old start button, everything died.

Having the electrical issue before a ride, the bike has been flawless, what a pain in the wazoo.

Tested the battery, it tested bad - found a replacement and oh my my, the bike has never run better!

It's a good day to ride

Yea, see....notice that battery failure did not happen in BFE.....FJ gods smiling.

Years ago (before my Transpo VR mod) I was in Flagstaff with a group of riders, we stopped for gas and a late breakfast, my FJ battery died, No spark, no headlight, no nothing......just by chance there was an auto parts store next door in the shopping center and FJ's batteries are common in stock.

I had a new battery installed before my blueberry pancakes were served.

It was a great ride down thru Kayenta and Monument Valley.

A few weeks ago RPM advertised a used Telefix fork brace.
I had bought one of the cheap Chinese versions a while back and was glad to be able to replace it with "the real deal" at a fair price.
It's on, time for a ride!

Finally at it's new home.

It's a far more expensive and less practical motorcycle than the FJ, but it is just so politically incorrect that it was just far too attractive to pass up......

Nice find Steve! Have you ever ridden one?
If not, be careful, you will find that the H2's turn nothing like your FJ.
In fact, the verb 'turn' should probably not be used in the same sentence as H2.

That's funny Pat.

So why is this motorcycle politically incorrect?  Because it's a two stroke maybe?

My brother had a triple. Watched him pull out next to a car @ 65-70 and gas it and ride a wheelie away, several times.
It had a bigbore, expansions, flat slides. And a set of dragbars(handle bars). Was a crazy machine.

He bought it because the shift shaft goes all the way through the cases. And comes out the other side. He put a short shift lever on the other side so he could shift it. Since he lost his other leg. When a girl turned and ran him over on his other bike.

I had an rz350. Bought it for my girl friend at the time. She later became my wife.

Was a fun ride.

Nope Joe - it's because of those handlebars......what an abomination  :sarcastic:. I love the bike but those handlebars are the pits !!!
