I've almost never said this before about a video posted on a forum of someone riding their bike, but I must say Mark, I really like your approach to riding and would feel safe riding in a group with you.

Your "wide in, tight out" approach to corners means you don't run the risk of running wide on the exit of corners (either running out of road off the edge, or crossing the centre-line and putting the bike into the lane f on-coming traffic) and you have best visibility around the corners - meaning you can keep up reasonable speed with less braking and earlier acceleration (riding SAFELY, but not slowly).

Too few riders have been taught or understand/practice that approach, often resulting in cornering crashes.

It might be long, but that's one of the most enjoyable amateur ride videos I've seen in ages  :good2:

Thank you Dean. Have to remember this was a first run on an unfamiliar road, so I was being cautious and riding well within my comfort zone.

This was my first FJ rally (and most likely not my last). I thank all those, which is everybody, who made me feel very welcome. I've had a tough last eight months since my wife, Darra, passed away as we almost always rode together. The last couple of years she was unable to ride her bike anymore so she rode with me. It felt strange and a little uncomfortable riding on my own. The friendliness of everyone there really helped me make it through the weekend. So heartfelt thanks to you all.
The Oxley from Walcha is the best road I have ridden since the Great Ocean road a few years ago. Darra and I had ridden the Oxley many years ago and it has been improved out of sight, so, so much better. I also noticed, on my way to Mt Seaview on Thursday in trying (read very damp and foggy) conditions, other vehicles would pull over to allow me, just me on my own, past in the narrow twisty sections. I would bet they are locals who don't mind the bikes that this road attracts as it must bring much revenue to the area. My '91 1200 never missed a beat all weekend, even in the wet going up and over Thunderbolts Way in fog and light rain. The Metzler Marathons behaved perfectly. It was me that those of you riding into Gloucester saw going in the opposite direction.
I'm looking forward to going back again. Maybe try and organize a VJMC overnighter.
Also looking forward to touring New Zealand south island in less than two weeks on a Super Tenere 1200.

Wrong side of the road??? The top side of the road is the correct side. The other side should be avoided when possible. But if your bike is inverted like some recent posts then it might be the only option.  :mocking:
