Hello all,

Im Adam from Scotland.

I have been using this site alot to help me get to know my FJ. And it has everything i need to know. And thought i should introduce myself, instead of lurking in the background.

So i  bought my FJ 1200 last year, its a 92  3XW that was actually first registered on my second birthday. For as long as i can remember i always wanted one, there was something about them that caught my eye, they have quite a retro look but still are not out of place in todays world. And im finally a proud owner. It was a big step up from my fazer 600.

I was always looking around for the 'right' one and she finally came up.

Im fortunate that the previous owner had spent some time and money to get rid of alot of the old bits that needed replacing, to make it a bike that can match todays modern bikes.

So i thought i would say hello and look forward to getting to know you all.

Adam

Welcome Adam, thanks for your introduction, although the thought that your steed was first registered when you were 2 years old is.....well, a bit sobering to the riders of my generation.
I mean, shit, where has the time gone?

According to the colors on your bike, we have that color here in the states as a 1991 model. The first year for the rubber mounted engine system. A very, very good bike. You made a wise choice! Kudos to you.
We affectionately refer to your model as the "pink stripers" owned and ridden by men who are not afraid to show their feminine side.  :pardon:

It's all good laddie!

Hi Pat,

Thanks for your reply, yes you are correct  it is a 91 but registered in 92.

Im 28 now and the bike is 26years old, but im sure youre happy the younger generation are still buying these bikes.

And im sure your time has been spent wisely riding lots of 'old' girls over the years!

I was always looking for the 2 tone blue style, but once i saw this i coudnt say no. So you are correct im not afraid on the colour. And it doesnt really matter because im now a very proud owner!

We welcome you to our FJ family young man! Always glad to have young riders join us.
It's a big difference from your previous 600 Fazer, so please gentle with your right hand.
You will now understand what the FJ  kookaloo is all about.

You have a bitchen FJ! Kudos to the previous owner. He obviously loved that bike. Good for you.

Well Adam, I'm not a Pink Striper, but I am a Brit too, living in the "Midlands".....welcome to the forum.

Great folks on here and if I can ever help, just ask. Hopefully we'll meet up on the road some time and you can get an eyeful of the true "best colour scheme" for a FJ
