crumbleing front fender mounting tabs
« on: April 15, 2019, 07:19:03 PM »

i read the removal of brake line guides can create an installed fastener height issue resulting is busting the fenders, too late for my little washers, that amounted to squat and besides it might be fork flex ( my rpm brace is a coming)

nevertheless

both sides are a crumbly mess

I have zero interest in "repairing" them with any kind of glue approach, does not seem like enough material for any of the  crumbs to attach to. joke is i set them aside hoping they would someday go back on...lol

question.....

is there a  bolt on option out there, or even a cosmetic cap i can bolt over the rattling and vibrating eyesore?

better engineered aftermarket fender replacement?

i am note against riveting a molded piece, as long as it symmetrical

ZOANOM just showed me this past Friday his reconstructed front fender tabs.  He used a plastic repair product but I can't find it with Google.  Maybe he'll chime in.

I have not personally used this product. I have seen posts here on the forum along with photos of the repairs. This seems to be the ticket for fender and fairing tab repairs.

Plastifix. Ignore all other suggestions. It is a very simple process, and the result is stronger than the factory plastic. My tabs cracked multiple times with other methods. I just used the cracked off piece to mold a new tab for each side.
