Hi all! My name is Rob and I've been a FJ1100 owner for 34 years! Bought it new from Year Round Yamaha Way back in June of 1985. Bike is totally stock and has about 38-40k Km. I've done a few long trips with her, but there was a period of a few years she hardly got ridden at all. I'm now taking her out more often the last few years, but only when the weather is nice and when I'm not working. Late to this game but only found the site while looking for info concerning a small oil leak. Glad to finally be here. Cheers  :drinks:

I don't think you're late to the game at all Rob.  As a matter of fact, I only know Pat as being earlier to the FJ game than you.  34 years is a rather long time to have a motorcycle mistress.  Congratulations on such a long relationship.  Welcome to the nut farm as well.  Oh, and that's a remarkably well preserved FJ you have.

Thank you Joe. I've had and sold three other bikes before her, but she checked all my boxes for what I wanted out of a motorcycle, and we've been " married " ever since.
Looking forward to reading more from the nut farm! Think I'll fit right in  :wacko1:

Cheers ,

Rob

Welcome Rob, Original owners are a kind of royalty here. Many are retreads (wish I never sold it) and the rest are like me. In 86' bought a CBR600 (Hurricane) when I could have had an FJ. I might not have lived long enough to be here today but I am quite happy with both my '86 and '89 now.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

Welcome to the forum  :hi:

My first FJ was an 85, not an original owner, but purchased slightly used in 1988.

Your FJ is a beauty that looks like it has been stored in a time capsule.
