New Flagship
« on: August 03, 2019, 08:16:35 PM »

I finally got around to buying a friend's project 91 FJ on Friday. Been trying to raise the funds for it for over 12 month, but every time I got the money together something came up.

So now the money is payed I just need to wait for it to be transported down to me. It will need lots of TLC but I know it is in running condition and the carbs won't need rebuilding (thanks for that Ray). Just going to do a bare frame rebuild and some common sense mods, like SS braided brake lines and such.

I will put up a project listing and keep you all updated.

If it's coming from Ray I don't believe that. They don't call him "Ray of Sunshine" for nothing.

Noel. As you can see from the photos, the carb are absolutely spotless, as they were on Ray's 93. The 91 has been sitting in Ray's s shed for a few years basically untouched from when he bought it. Most of the work will be cosmetic, and I know Ray has had it running.

No set time frame. But will get done as time and money allows. No real rush... But you know me. Mr Impatient.

I had grand plans for this one Noel, ( bought some nice plastics etc), but never got around to it. I even started a project write up on this forum sometime back. But Mark will have fun with this one, needs a lot of TLC, will need valve clearances done ( running rough ) but will be a pearler I think once Mark is finished. ( Its a '92, the one in my signature below Smiley )

Meanwhile, by years end I *should* have another project in the shed.
