A little over a month ago I spent the whole day out on the Super-Ten.
Decided to check out the last of the remaining "Fall-Colors", and ride part of the BDR route.
Section-5 is probably the easiest one, with a mixture of Ranch-roads, easy Forest-roads, and some pavement....

I had some fun with the GoPro as well.

I enjoyed perfect weather, and my ride was 457-miles total that day.
The BDR section was 132-miles (between the red X's)
Was a super-fun day!

You've got some beautiful countryside in CO.  The only continental western state I have yet to visit.  On my bucket list.  So much mining and railroad history there too.

Great shots Alan and great riding country. Love getting off the beaten track, beyond the traffic and exploring.

I miss the old days of almost weekly trip reports from members all over the place, they were always great reading. Alan, you yourself were a great regular contributor on that front and even the great beer fridge build that kept us entertained in'15.

If you wanted to see the "High-Passes", and the areas where most of the Mining/Railroad history is located, you'd be best to visit in late-July or August. The weather is much friendlier in the mountains at that time.

Beautiful Alan. :good:

What's your range on fuel?

Riding like I did on this day, if I stretch it I can get to around 275-miles..............That is really pushing it though. If I really-really took it easy, I might be able to stretch it to 300?
If I am cutting it that close I like to have a little spare fuel with me.
Not much need to ever push it that far. There is usually a fuel-stop along the route somewhere. It's nice to have that range in the back of my mind though........

There's more coming  :good2:
I'm sorta working backwards with the ride-posts..........
I've got the trip to Moab with Cap'n Ron from September, Our Moto-Camping trip around Colorado from August, and I've started to dive back into our epic 19-day tour from August-2018 (so many pictures to sort through)
Stay tuned!  (popcorn)

I rode the CO bdr in 2016 from Cortez to Steam boat with a bunch of friends from Va.  We loved it and it kicked off a western bdr craze where we have been going ever year or so since.  So far CO, UT and this year ID.   I can't say which one was my overall favorite, but the single best day of riding was in CO around telluride.   Imogene, Black Bear pass and Ophir are all right there.  You guys out west are lucky to have all the cool stuff.   Here we got - trees!

I am hoping to ride more sections this upcoming year, and hope to ride Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming in the coming seasons....................Maybe Arizona and NM also?
