Side stand down in any gear except neutral, engine off. Circuit is normally closed. Side stand up, circuit closed, engine runs. Side stand down, circuit open, engine off.
so you can't delete the switch, you need it to ground the circuit, if removed , the circuit is open and in engine won't run ever

Another thing i usually check before takeoff is that my shoelaces is tucked under so they don't tangle up in gearlever or brakelever kinda embarrassing when stopping at a red light and you just fall over. Here is a vid of a sidestand down crash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mQ-5mWNOLooh wow that sucks, never did that before, but he flip the bike high side, didn't seem like it was a kick stand

From the switch follow the wires up to the connectors, Unplug the connectors and use a jumper wire with spade connectors. Easy peesey.

Is there a switch somewhere to retract the side stand Nope. When I bought the bike I noticed there was no switch so I bought one not realising there was no bracket to take it. I have second 1100 and it doesn't have one either. I have to kick the stand up before moving off.

Are you telling me that those American models have all the bells and whistles and ours have got none of the modern auto stuff , next you’ll be telling me theirs came with an oil cooler as standard.

I like my switch. I use it all the time to shut my engine off. That way I know my stand is down before I get off my bike. Don’t ask

Funny you brought that up. I use my kickstand the same way. I don’t think I ever tried to get off the bike with the stand up, but, I really am not interested in seeing if I can pick the bike up off the ground, either. I can’t believe how much heavier these bikes got since I bought my first one in 1991. Ted

So somewhat off topic. Clutch safety switches. Mine doesn’t work anymore... as in in gear side stand up pull the clutch in no start. Can that be easily bypassed
