I didn't know they made screw extractors that small
« on: May 12, 2020, 10:38:09 PM »

This is just me kvetch-ing. But Jesus Christ, the itsy-bitsy set screw that holds the choke knob on held up my entire day. If the knob doesn't come off, then the inner-fairing can't come out, then the top-fairing wont come off, so I can't fix the broken instrument cluster.
I was ready to buy the entire choke assembly from RPM for $40 and just take a hack-saw to the choke knob. Instead I found the tiniest extractor in the hardware store and I'm amazed it worked.
This picture doesn't do justice to how small it is. I swear I have larger screws in my reading glasses.

The Yamaha service manual warns you not to lose the screw.

They mean it.
