Time for Brake and Clutch Overhaul

Last week I got my 90 1200 out to go for a ride and found the clutch master had no pressure. I put it away and took the 1100 instead. Since then I have checked it and it needs new seals and the level lens was starting to weep. I checked the brake master also and it was showing early signs of fluid leak. I decided to overhaul both and, while I was at it I decided to go through all my spares to see what else I had. Hmmm. Seems I have built up a bit of a collection of m/cs. I decided to bite the bullet and overhaul all that I had. Also, with a set of blue spots on their way it would be opportune to replace the M/cs with an overhauled pair.
I discovered that the 1100/1200 brake m/cs appeared to be the same but there appeared to be two types of clutch m/cs.
I stripped all tatty and fluid the affected m/cs, cleaned, bead blasted and painted them using caliper paint. There bores were all good so I gave them all a light hone. I already had some spare seal kits so I've now completed k brake m/cs and one clutch m/c - I'm waiting on delivery clutch kits.
Today I finished fitting the m/cs to the 1200 and bled them so all is good for a ride now, maybe tomorrow.

I took the 1200 for a run today to test the overhauled brake and clutch m/cs. Happy to report all is good again and the front brake feels stronger than it was.
I checked the weather before going and the radar showed just a couple of spots of rain but mostly it was sunshine. I headed towards the Central Coast and dark clouds started appearing. I had planned to go to a popular biker coffee stop (Jerry's at Kulnura) intending to have a break and devour a flat white but a few ks from Mangrove Mountain the rain started. I decided to pull the pin and head towards home via the motorway. Getting quite wet on the motorway but about halfway home it dried out and so did I (I took a punt on not needing my wetties - should have known better. All was going good and 10 minutes from home the heavens opened again. Can't win 'em all.
Bike performed well, unaffected by the rain. I did experience the rear end stepping out a bit when I got on the gas a little too hard going up a side road to join the motorway. Recovered nicely. Got home just as the rain stopped. All up 170ks without a stop. Although I was wet I wasn't too cold and the Oxford heated grips worked well. Good to be back on the 1200 again but I still love the 1100 - maybe its the 4/1 exhaust note.
