Some Amazing Riding
« on: February 23, 2021, 02:02:08 AM »

This is a video of the winning rider at the San Diego Motor Officers Assoc. Competition back in 2012. If I could be 1/2 as good as that...

Yeah, pretty cool Paul. Taking nothing from the rider, the BMW "P" bikes have a lower 1st gear which makes them a good choice for that sort of event.
What are American police doing riding BMW's anyway?

You didn’t expect them to ride Harleys did you?  rofl
The police in the city I worked for rode BMW’s for about a year. We had a small fleet of 8 bikes. 6 were used daily, 2 shifts, 16 hours, and 2 were held in service reserve. We ended up selling all of them after a year due to recurring transmission and ring/pinion failures.
The cops then went to the Honda ST1300’s which proved very durable.

However, they did say that they missed the BMW’s agility.

Yep, that’s what sets them apart from the FJR’s, GTR’s, ST's etc. I figure agility is more use in the real world than straight line power.

But, I’ll tell you what they’re not as nimble and flickable as….a tweaked FJ!
