Troyskie

G'day fellas,

Shed day at Troyskie's for the 18th,  but will start on Friday 17th and finish on Sunday morning.

Limited beds this time, only the spare room and the shed room. Plenty of camper and camping room.

Pete, Phil and myself will do a dyno run in the morning. Any other takers?

We did the Robbo pie shop last time. Any suggestions for a different ride? Johno suggested the Clyde. Including the dyno run, I don't think we'll be able to do a big ride.

Perhaps something different? Nerriga pub for lunch? That would put us home around 1600 for beers & bbq, depending on how long the dyno run takes.

Sounds great Troy, you know I'll be there. If I think of an alternate ride plan, I'll let you know. Greg mentioned that he may also be a candidate for the dyno.

We're up to about 10 confirmed.

G'day Troy,
Should be down there, just depends if I'm allowed out of Sydney. At present, been working in the heart of covid territory, (Moore Park) surrounded by the zombies.

Cheers

Hi Al,
Yes you would not want the Police to see you heading out of Sydney ,that's if the locked is still on ,,
because you ride a FJ1100 , they would be able to catch you  pretty easy , shame you don't ride a FJ1200 , the FJ12  go that quick the Police would not even see you ,,ha ha

I'll be there.
Should have the FJ back on the road by then. If not, will have to ride alternative bike.

You might have to leave home a couple of days earlier Gav, your alternate bike will stop at every coffee shop on the way to Nowra!

With the way things are going, I don't think we will be out of lock down for maybe twelve weeks.
I can not leave my LGA for at least the next two weeks.

So nice to have people in power who really know how to handle the situation, isn't it.

I think the main problem is they modelled everything on the alpha not delta. This was then compounded by 'treading water'. Reading between the lines, it would seem the Fed is using NSW as a big petri dish to see how cheaply they can run a lockdown.

I don't think 5 days is enough for VIC, but fingers crossed for them. I believe the delta needs early hard intervention.

Sydney has missed out on a lot of the pain from the last 15 months because the method for alpha was so successful, and it is taking a while for them to get into the game. Same as for VIC last year, too many 'sovereign citizens' who think they are somehow above or outside the rules.

The media is also creating havoc by cherry picking 'experts' to support a biased view, over reporting insignificant but 'dramatic' (aka news worthy) aspects and under reporting simple facts like paracetamol, the seasonal ful shot or the contraceptive pill is more dangerous than astra etc. They just keep blowing up things that get nervous nellies glued to the TV or radio for ratings and ad revenue.

We need to support those who are unable to be vaccinated, by getting vaccinated. People who choose not to be vaccinated can learn to take responsibility for their actions (no shed day for you  :sarcastic:).

I'm more concerned with the way EU, UK, US etc. are opening up too early. This is a fantastic way to help the virus mutate into a vaccine resistant strain that could put us all in the shit again.

I seriously doubt we'll see the lockdown extend for 3 months. It is possible, but I doubt it. Either way, the state needs to return to leading and stop reacting.

Fingers crossed Gav! The shed day will happen  :good2: :drinks: :drinks:

Al, it would seem the state requires that you have a two week holiday at home (again), unless those diseased latte drinking eastern suburbians deem your work to be 'essential' and give you a nice letter to show Mr. Plod :).

Please don't lump us in with others Troy - we haven't opened up yet (that happens tomorrow, most likely) and others opened up ages ago, when our Govt said it was too early and now look whats happening in Europe, with lots of countries going back into lockdown due to hospital bed shortages.

The main reason we are opening up is the success of the vaccination roll-out here. My sister (who was vaccinated quite a few months ago) just tested positive (they believe she picked it up from someone she arrested who apparently hadn't been vaccinated), and she's been "ill", but nothing more than an average cold/flu bout - so she's happy the vaccination has done its thing.

Cases are on the increase here, as things like the Euro football match crowds and Wimbledon crowds have been allowed to attend those events, but hospitalisations and deaths have not returned, and don't seem to be returning, to earlier levels as experienced during the main body of the pandemic.

Yes, our Govt are opening up sooner than wither my wife, or I think they should, but that's only because around 20 of our friends and relatives have come down with it in recent weeks - but again, none of them (all vaccinated) were seriously ill, so perhaps the Govt are right.

With me being generally anti-social (and my wife's favourite tee shirt saying "I hate people"), the more recent restrictions haven't really had that much of an impact on us - a couple of things I will miss when we return back to normal are the improvement in service from doctor's surgeries and hospitals (time-wasters/slackers are being caught-out by now having to use on-line systems for non-essential/emergency treatment), and the quieter roads.

BUT....I really hope you manage to have a great shed day, ride some great roads, do some planned maintenance/upgrades, talk lots of BS and drink plenty of beers  - wish I could join you !!  :good2:

No dramas Dean, you have a muppet for PM at the moment. He'd be good for when times are on the up and up, but not really the leader you need right now (Maggie T would have been a better choice for this situation :) ).

Thanks for the shed day encouragement, I'll lead the way on the BS stories  :sarcastic: . Perhaps you can make a shed day down under one day. Yes I can take you for a blat in my mates 44, he's also looking at a 66  :dance2:.

Noel, will we see you? Nowra is outside of Greater Disease Land....just sayin'.

Well Gav, you may have been closer to the time than I thought.

Another 4 weeks of lockdown in SteakNKidney.

One hard lockdown weeks ago would have sorted all this!

After all the sterling work the state did, they really dropped the ball this time, and are still fumbling!

Al, at least you're not in lockdown mate, so back to Moore Park and movie sets?
