Hi everyone!

I love all motorcycles and own a few.
I am always looking out for classic bikes and FJ poked My interest.
There was a one 1992 model for Sale close to me with 119000 kilometers on The clock, but that did't scare me i now these go for a looong way.
The Bike was on very good condition aesthetically, but i went for test drive and Well.. not so great.
The front tire was all square and wobbly, as i drove IT i also noticed Bad vibration and clunking sound that resonated to The foot pegs at low speed.
However The motor Ran great and had great torque, so i took a gamble with it and got it very cheap with new front tire and 3 original touring cases.

Drove The thing to My garage and swapped The front tire, replaced The rear brake caliper from another crashed FJ and noticed The Chain and sprockets were so Bad that they caused all vibration and clunking.
So i replaced The chain and sprockets also with good pricey parts and bleeded all brakes and clutch also. Checked some vital bolts and lubricated everything and started her up and took heti for a spin.
Got off and all vibrations and clunks were gone and boy does this thing feels good!
I love The torque and power of The motor, riding position and stability of The Bike. I have had Honda VFR750 rc36 and i loved IT, but this Bike is better in every way! I am tall Guy, 6'3 and this feels just right for me. I am very Happy and live riding My FJ!

I also like to tinker with My bikes and i joined this group for sharing experiences and tips for servicing and upgrades.
I am going to replace The brake lines with steel ones and i hope i can get some ideas and tips for pre-emptive maintenance and modifications.

Have a great and safe riding!
Best regards, Markus from northern Finland

Welcome!

Also make sure to service the front motor mounts and the usual valve adjustment and carb sync to smooth things out.

Thanks, i check those soon enough. Got myself a carb Sync Tool to also, all My bikes are carburetted so i thought i learn to do this myself.

Welcome Markus, it sounds like you rescued that bike in the nick of time!
She's in good hands now. :hi:
I am also 6'3" and I have found some relief for my 68 year old knees with
Lower foot pegs. You would think the 1.5" lower pegs would not be such a big deal, however the increase in comfort (for me) is significant.

These pegs were from a Buell, (not sure they are still available)

Cheers.   Pat
