Hi All

I may of just done a dumb thing. I've been looking for a project bike for a while and.....

Just bought a 1992 FJ1200 someone was trying to turn into a street fighter. It doesn't run. But it does come with a bunch or parts I think will be useful for the trike.

I'm going to take the street fighter bet, and raise it to trike. I think it will be cool.

Its been sat for a few years. Looks terrible and its covered in chassis black and bog dust.

Maybe its a diamond in the rough......we shall see.

First job is to get it running. I'll just be happy if I can get the starter motor working this weekend

cheers

The trike bit is where I come in. I'll build a custom frame.

And I'll be building this contraption in Perth. I've already got most of the parts for it.

Hi Pat

I've already had a bunch of requests from buddies to document the build.

I'd much rather build than take snaps, but I  LOVE a good photo build so feel it's time I contributed back.

I'll start a build diary soon.

cheers

G'day Damo,

Welcome to the madness.

The FJ motor is pretty bullet proof and simple, so it should run with the basics even if it is tired and lacking maintenance.

There are a few other FJ owners in Perth, so you should have some local knowledge to draw from.

Given the FJ motor is in many Legends racers I imagine there will be a heap of cross-over parts to help the trike build. RPM can help on standard parts as well as the racer parts.

Feel free to reach out if you hit any snags.

I'm expecting my trike to look more like the second. But I think it will be way cooler. I'm really going to try and get a clean look.

I like the idea of the engine hanging out in the open all polished up and the oil cooler routed to the rear.

And here is my starting point.....
