So im still having major trouble with the shoddy wiring/hack job the PO did when installing the NOS and i cant get it back to stock. how hard would it be to replace the entre wire harness? i know it would prove wise to take pics and retrace my steps when installing it, but i have no idea what should and shouldnt be there. keep in mind: A) I know NOTHING about wires and I cant follow the wire diagrams in the Clymers manual at all. B) I have no intention to get butt F***ed by a dealer. an C) I NEED HELP  :flag_of_truce:

ive done some research online about wiring techniques, do's and dont's but im still at a loss

thanks!

We don't know if you need a complete replacement wiring harness or not. It "sounds" like you do, but I suspect you're overreacting. You need some local help, there is only so much we can do online.
I agree with you about a dealer, but other that those dick heads at the Harley shop, is there anyone that can help you?
To start, why don't you post a (free) want ad here, e-mail Randy@RPM and check eBay to see if you can get a used harness?
Then try the replacement yourself?

the reason im overreacting is because i realllly dont want to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere again with no cell phone signal and a 20 mile hike ahead of me. :hang1:
i have a friend who works on cars at the toyota dealership down the road, he might be able to help, but we'll see. also need to do the headlight relay when i figure out how in the future, my headlights dim too much when idling. :dash2:
Thanks Pat!

Some dimming at idle is normal.  Make sure the idle isn't too low (~1100ish).

lol, after i completely took apart the carbs and put them back in, i forgot to set the idle again and so now its around 600. but when my idle was above 1000, they would still dim...but then again, i didnt have my led brake lights installed yet either....

good point, ill have to check that out
