I am on the lookout for a new pair of motorcycle gloves, but this time around, safety is my first and foremost concern. I mean, I need the full arsenal of protection; wrist protection, knuckle protection, palm protection... you name it. I have looked at these pair for some time now, http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/37/19746/ITEM/Alpinestars-GP-Tech-Gloves.aspx The pricetag is quite hefty to say the least, but I really need the best protection for my hands that I can afford... does any of you have any experience with this brand, or know of any other high-protection gloves? One other thing that attracted me to these gloves is the fact that the ring- and pinkyfinger are sewn together to protect from "finger roll". Nice idea, I thought... but I have no prior experience with the maker of the gloves; my local bikestore stopped selling them, stating that the quality had dropped the last couple of years... |

I have the previous model to those, the GP Pro. Less ventilation on the back and more padding. They are indeed very nice gloves. They just work so well you don't notice them, until you put on a pair of cheap gloves to compare. My only hassle with them is getting the full gauntlet over the cuff on my jacket, but once on they stay put. I'm looking to get a different color, what size hand(s) do you have?

My palm measures 10 cm, that would make a L I think, but I was thinking of getting an XL to be sure the glove would fit and the fingers not to be to short... don't know if these gloves are true to size or not, haven't had a chance to try them out myself...

I haven't got these, but, apparently they are about the only glove that pass the test as a safety device as opposed to just being advertised as such.

Thanks, I'll definitely check them out. I think they have them at my local store.
I did go for the GP-Tech gloves and they are very, very nice.
But they are quite thin and very well vented, will only do for summer riding in nice warm temperatures.

Held makes a very nice, durable and safe glove.... They too are pricey, but, you're paying for quality. Motorcyclegear.com usually has them for a good pricce.
