well saturday i am off to fetch my next project in the morning 1200 yamaha 3cv but its all in bits so should be fun will post pics when i start and hat state its in and start making list

There was a line in the book, "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" about a guy picking up a Hardley in pieces like this.  The narrators' perspective was that he'd know just about all there was to know about the bike once he had it assembled.

And so will you.

my 3cv also was full of crap as well and it ran very hot after the filter was cleaned out did not get hot again

Do you intend to replace the shift forks, and undercut second gear while the motor's out?  Seems like it would prudent, unless you know it's already been done.  Be a shame to have to pull the motor once it's in and running.

hi dan no problem with the gearbox or clutch so i think a good clean check the top end poss will chat to last owner
