Yes, its a 6 speed manual.  :good2:

Automatics are still in the minority in all motor vehicles here. Learning to use a clutch and gears is fundamental to learning to drive and control a car properly.

Separately though, too many motorhomes with automatic's have issues with overheating gearboxes in hilly country. A "caravan" in our speak is i think what you would call a "trailer" (mobile home that is towed by a car/truck).

501 miles in the last 20 hours and we've arrived at our campsite 150yds from the sea.

"Camp" is set up, wine has been consumed, but we haven't unpacked the bikes or kayak's yet. Going down to the beach this evening (while drunk) and hoping the rain and storms we've driven through to get here, are finished !! The wind will determine whether we ride or paddle first tomorrow  :sarcastic:

I like that set-up with the tent attached to the RV.  I've never seen one like that in the States.  Only issue I'd have is that once you're set-up you're stuck in that spot.  I pull a 42ft 5th wheel toy hauler with a diesel dually.  I don't think I'd fit in very well in the UK!   :biggrin:

Thanks Dean for the correction on British English - I'm still trainable.  Very nice setup and would be great at Oshkosh. 

I much prefer a manual transmission, and a couple of the family cars are 5 speeds.  I taught both my kids how to drive a manual at the start.

Its supposed to be a "Drive-away" Rick, but i haven't tried it and don't intend to.

When we got it, we intended it to be for use when we were going to stay somewhere for a few days - and as a place for the dog to chill (he's not with us on this trip).

The "Camp Room" makes a great place to entertain when the weather isn't great and also when the /midgies are out in force.

We chose the motorhome we've got because most UK camp sites have a max 7.5m length limit on motorhomes - the one i wanted to buy was 8.5m, but when we looked into it, it was a problem to get places to stay.

And some from this afternoon, paddling out towards the island of Egg - we only ventured about 2 miles out to sea before we turned south for a couple of miles and then back north easterly, to where we launched, north of Arisaig.

The sea was as calm as a mill pond and the wind was non-existent. Supremely relaxing :good2:
