I will be riding to the Vintage Yamaha Rally at the end of September. The temperature heading East from Kansas can be pleasant, cool or hot. Regular evaporative cooling vests do not work very well with the higher humidity that is typical of anywhere East of the Mississippi River. I purchased a Compcooler detachable liquid cooling vest. I am sure that I will be able to test it's capabilities during the 2000 mile round trip ride.

I received my Compcooler ice water cooling system. Not super warm this morning.... but... 75°F/23.8°C, 100% humidity, raining and in a rainsuit. Everyone knows how warm a rainsuit can get..... the bladder had been in the freezer and was about 50% frozen. The system works. It takes about 10 seconds and you can feel the cold water. With a completely frozen bladder and added water the system has a claim of 1.5 - 4 hours. You can then add ice cubes to extend the cooling time. The cost is way more than a typical Evaporative Cool Vest. The greatest drawback with the Evaporative Cool Vests are.... they are about worthless East of the Mississippi River. This system is 100% self contained and OMG.... it makes the Evaporative Cooling Vests look like amateur hour.....
